Monika Schneiter had probably asked herself many times why there are always things that quickly lose their appeal shortly after they’ve been bought and why there are also those which seem to become even more beautiful over the course of time.  She asked herself this question until she decided to follow her passion and to found her own fashion label, in 2005. Its original name was “women at work”. However, the congenial, creative cheerful woman soon realized that it should be her own name which should be printed on the labels of her colorful creations. Therefore, in 2012, she renamed her label into “Monika Schneiter”, which is associated with ethically and ecologically correct production.

Monika Schneiter’s world revolves around the beauty of textile patterns, which shine in numerous colors and which truly reflect Monika’s love of creative work. In her current collection, we’re captured by the so called “Galaxies” pattern, which indeed is marked by something transcendental. They appear trippy, kaleidoscopic and shine in numerous shades like sky blue, orange-yellow and red on a black fabric, which is mostly organic jersey-cotton. “Galaxies” embellishes hooded jackets, knee-length skirts, tapered dresses, t-shirts, long-sleeved tops and accessories made of silk. They are all handmade and printed under fair working conditions in Morocco,

Monika Schneiter has surely already found the reason for her to love her old wool sweater or her jeans that have already been worn for countless times more than ever before. It’s the quality which makes her clothes, whether they are bought by her or designed by her, real companions. It will be interesting to see what she’s going to offer us at the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin in July.
