We were trembling and we were excited. First, it was the offside goal by the North Africans that fortunately wasn’t counted, which showed us tired German soccer players.  The first half of the match indeed was dreading to us Germans because Algeria played dynamically, passionately and  put pressure on our German heroes in the midfield, so that the German strengths couldn’t unfold.

Everything was too slow and almost chaotic. And what happened to Neuer? Was he so frustrated that he decided to become a striker? These were risky actions by the goalkeeper, but honestly, the defense in front of the goal was really undesirable.

Then, it was time for the second half and the German team finally demonstrated that they managed to pull themselves together. Their play became structured and more dynamic. Müller had two amazing scoring chances, but he was not successful. The result at the end was 0:0, but the extra time came and released the Germans from their pain. 1:0 and then 2:0 thanks to Özil. Algeria managed to score at least a consolation goal, but it was our match, our win.

Next time, we will play against France, which won the last match thanks to two goals against Nigeria.
