Davidová, the label by designer Marina Davydova. Of course she was invited to participate in the Fashion Week in Belarus as a citizen of this country and promising designer.
In her new collection for spring-summer 2014 the designer showed her special understanding of fashion for the first time. A collection should not only look good but also bear a statement and tell a story. Just like art, there’s of course plenty of room for interpretation.
However, the collection reminds you of what school girls wear at first sight. Short skirts and high-necked tops really remind you of school uniforms. The stockings however resemble a cheat sheet, as if the wearer had written the answers for a test on them.
The designs appear partially oversized, as if a girl tried on her mother’s clothes.
This definitely makes the clothes comfortable due to round shapes and smooth flowing transitions. But like the girl herself, the collection gets more mature towards the end of the catwalk presentation. The collection of Davidová manages to awaken feelings and associations in the viewer. You definitely won’t forget this brand.
