Veronique Leroy  is a designer who calls the heart of fashion Paris her home. There, she attended different schools and began her career in the field of fashion after a traineeship which took three years. She took her first step, when she joined the label Azzedine Alaia.

There, she stayed for another three years and calls her career at Azzedine Alaia the “time when she learned to see”. In addition, she became more patient and learned to perceive the body in an architectural way. At Martine Sitbone she was taught how to organize a professional show and present a collection.

Since 1991, the designer finally decided to become self-employed. In her new collection for the spring and summer 2014, she approaches an extremely impressive topic. Veronique Leroy deals with uniforms and the strictness which defines them. Nonetheless, she always tries to incorporate the feminine side into her designs.

This indeed is a difficult task which she yet managed well. The uniforms embrace the body, dangerous-looking jackets or masculine accentuations define the creations additionally. Sometimes, one part of the outfit looks incredibly strict, while the rest of the outfit appears flowing and feminine. Whilst some outfits are clearly inspired by uniforms, you have to look twice to distinguish the uniform character of other ensembles.

The new collection for the spring and summer by Veronique Leroy definitely stands for strong women who receive a masculine character on the one hand. On the other hand, they keep their distinct feminine charm.
