With their new collection “Make Love not Fashion“ the eco-conscious Berlin Label Benu Berlin won the Eco Chic Award in Hong Kong. This achievement was reason enough to take a look at this collection myself. Said collection was made of recycled T-shirts and jeans just like the previous one. Since I paid the girls of Benu Berlin a visit several times already, you can really believe me when I’m saying that the pieces made by Benu Berlin are real unicums. They are extremely complex and full of sophisticated details.

In the spring and summer 2014, the designers Anna and Karen mainly worked with self-made rope-like elements which they put together to create entire dresses and jackets. My ultimate favorites are the black dresses with filigree rope components. The short black dress with a revealed abdomen particularly appealed to me. In addition to the dress, I would wear a short jeans vest.

But the black jumpsuit looks truly magnificent as well and is indeed wearable. The cut-outs around the waist give this beauty a final refining touch and turn it into a perfect look. Anna Bach and Karen Jessen know how to transform their visions of sustainable fashion into beautiful stylish fashion pieces to please fashionistas and to raise the public’s awareness of sustainability.
