During the Riga Fashion Week the label NARCISS  is presenting its summer collection for 2014. What can we expect from this collection? It’s the unmistakable and slightly retro-like style, which celebrates the femininity by focusing on the classic, waist-shaping cuts of dresses, which probably never get out of style. The pleated skirt, flower designs as well as subtle collars and necklines are defining this image. On the other hand, the collection also stands out with colorful accentuations on stripes.

The blue boyish blazer does place a focus on the waist, but it’s the asymmetric design of the lapels which adds a straight character to the ensemble and which serves as the main eye catcher. A more feminine version of the striped designs can be spotted on a combination of a dress and a cape. I’m sure Audrey Hepburn would have liked this look, as well. Only the mustard-colored overall and the casual suit with a red striped design could top this retro charm.

Alise Trautmane came across the Greek myth about the young Narciss, who fell in love with his own reflection years ago. Now, the young designer wants to encourage all women to love themselves and to show this to the world. She also took the plunge by leaving her office work for opening heart for creativity. She found her own way and graduated from the Central St. Martins College and the Instituto Europeo di Design.
