The Maison Schiaparelli is marked by a long history and has been defining and influencing the fashion world since the 30ies. This year, we will finally get to enjoy Schiaparelli’s haute couture fashion for the first time since 1954. The designs represent a unification of Schiaparelli’s traditions and modernity. In this way, a completely new, innovative look is created.
The collection is determined by elegant colors and cuts. Each model is characterized by its own distinct personality. However, what they have in common is their elegant and feminine style. The floor-length extravagance is perfect for complementing the femininity of a woman. The bottom part of the dresses and skirts, made of tulle for instance, tend to be wide and more voluminous. I personally like the contrast between glamorous and rather nonchalant designs which is well represented by the colorfully patterned cloth pants which resemble pajama trousers. Many models are decorated by exciting prints, which makes the collection appear very modern and juvenile. At first glance, I fell in love with the floor-length coats made of delicate fabrics which are worn with shorts, a dress or a skirt.
The label indeed hasn’t lost its typical extravaganza. In the next few years, Schiaparelli will probably remain one of the most influencing fashion houses in the fashion world.
