Tarang Bharti is a fresh young designer from London. There, he works on his crazy collections. The newest one is inspired by the Gutai. This was a post-war art movement, which focused on mixing different media types.

In this collection his signature is absolutely obvious. Tarang Bharti works with all contrasts of stable and fragile elements. The focus is set on creating more and more volume and also the use of asymmetry. His creations are layered around the body and form a new silhouette. It’s often hard to catch sight of the actual way the layers are following around the female body. The designer also confuses our eyes with optical illusions. Is that one piece a top or is it actually a jacket? Anyways, they are unique!

The juxtaposition of very sturdy designs to flowing ones makes the collection very thrilling. The green and black jacket with the wide shoulders and the different hanging panels create a very secured and protecting impression. If you, however, look at the white and brown, softly falling silk dress, you can clearly see the contrast which is shown in this collection.

Tarang Bharti believes that designing garments is no big difference to other kinds of arts. If one looks at his deconstructed designs, which create new shapes around the bodies, one might suppose that Tarang Bharti is really creating art rather than simple design, right?
