Der gebürtige Sudanese Bobby Kolade hat eine wirkliche beachtliche Vita vorzuweisen und schaffte es in kürzester Zeit zu großem Erfolg, nachdem er erst mit Anfang 20 nach Deutschland kam. Nachdem der Designer seine Studien an der Akademie der Künste Weißensee anfing, zog es ihn erstmal in die Stadt der Mode, nach Paris. Dort arbeitete er für die traditionsreichen und berühmten Modehäuser Maison Martin Margiela und Balenciaga. Nach seiner Rückkehr 2013 nach Berlin schloss er erst sein Studium an der Universität der Künste ab und gründete dann das nach ihm benannte Label Bobby Kolade.
Mit seinen Kreationen bewarb er sich dann gleich bei dem Start up your Fashion Buisness Award, welcher von der Stadt Berlin gefördert und geleitet wird. Auch hier konnte er die Jury mit seinem Talent überzeugen und gewann den renommierten und außerordentlich lohnenswerten Award. So konnte der Designer Bobby Kolade in nur drei Jahren ein erfolgreiches und bekanntes Modelabel aus dem Boden stampfen.
Aber was macht die Designs von Bobby Kolade so besonders? Neben seinen Inspirationen durch die Arbeiten bei Maison Martina Margiela und Balenciaga, lässt sich der Designer auch von seinen Ursprüngen aus Uganda, wo er aufwuchs, in seinen Kreationen leiten. Diese doch sehr vielfältigen Inspirationsquellen sorgen dafür, dass der Designer eine Stilrichtung entstehen lässt, die ich bisher so noch nicht gesehen habe.
Bei seinen Schnitten arbeitet der Bobby Kolade mit klassischen Elementen und vermengt diese mit seinen mitgebrachten Inspirationen. So finden sich in seiner Debüt-Kollektion 2013 viele Hosenanzüge für Frauen aber auch Jacken, Pullover, Blusen und Hosen, die durch neuartige Faltenwurftechniken etwas Neues und Modernes in seine Kollektion mit einbringen. Auch bei den Materialien verblüfft er, da er nicht nur mit gewöhnlichen, hochwertigen Materialien, wie zum Beispiel Mohair arbeitet, sondern auch Jacken und Mäntel aus Lubugo herstellt. Bei Lubugo handelt es sich um eine Baumrinde, die bei Stammestrachten in Uganda verwendet wird. Der braune Mantel zum Beispiel, der mir sehr gut gefällt, ist aus Lubago und überzeugt durch seinen lässigen Schnitt und das angenehme Gefühl auf der Haut. Ich denke, dass die Interpretation von Mode durch Bobby Kolade dank seines Mutes und seines Ehrgeizes noch viele tolle Kollektionen hervorbringt und dass der Designer in kurzer Zeit noch größerem Erfolg erntet.

The native Sudanese Bobby Kolade has a really considerable vita to show and he got popular in quite a short time after he moved to Germany at the age of 20. After the desinger started studying at the Academy of Arts in Weißensee he moved to the city of fashion, Paris. There he worked for the popular and rich in tradition fashion houses Maison Martina Marigiela and Balenciaga. After his returning to Berlin in 2013 he finished his study at the University of Arts and founded his label Bobby Kolade.
With his creations he instantly applied for the Start up your Fashion Business Award, which is promoted and conducted by the city of Berlin. At this he could convince the jury, showing his talent ,and won the renowned and extraordinary laudable award. That way the desinger Bobby Kolade could build a popular and successful fashion label out of nothing within three years.
But what makes the designs of Bobby Kolade so special? Besides his inspirations he received while working at Maison Martina Margiela and Balenciaga, the desinger is guided by his origin from Uganda about his collections, where he was raised. These very diverse sources of inspiration caused the designer to create new styles that I’ve never seen before.
Considering his cuts Bobby Kolade works with classic elements and mixes those up with his brought inspirations. So his debut collection 2013 contains many pantsuits for women but also jackets, sweaters, blouses and trousers which make this collection very new and modern thanks to their novel cascade technique. Bobby Kolade really surprises by not only using common high-quality materials like mohair but also by producing jackets and coats of lubago. This material is gained from a special bark and is used for tribal costumes of Uganda. The brown coat, which I really like, for example is made of lubago and it convinces by its casual cut and the comfortable feeling on the skin. I think the interpretation of fashion by Bobby Kolade is, thanks to his courage and his ambition, causing him to produce many great collections and get very successful in quite a short time.
