Zum Milleniumswechsel hüpfte eine junge New Yorkerin namens Carrie Bradshaw mit einem Paar rosanen und mit Fell bedeckten Jimmy Choos durch Manhattan und schrieb damit Schuhgeschichte. Im Jahr 2000 wurde Jimmy Choo unsterblich gemacht. Doch der steile Weg nach oben fing schon 4 Jahre vorher an, als die Marke offiziell gegründet worden ist. Nach nur einem Jahr konnte man schon eines der ersten Modelle an keiner anderen als Prinzessin Diana bewundern. 2002 gewann ein burgundyfarbenes Paar an den zarten Füßen von Schauspielerin Halle Berry ihren ersten Oscar. Na gut, Halle Berry hat wohl den Löwenanteil verdient, doch die „strappy sandals“ sahen einfach umwerfend aus.
Nachdem selbst die First Lady zum Inaugural Ball neben ihrem stattlichen Gatten Barack Obama ein Paar weiße Pumps der Marke Choo zum Besten gab, wussten selbst die Letzten, dass Jimmy Choo zu der Crème de la Crème gehört. Heute möchte ich euch einen kleinen Einblick in die neueste Kollektion der Marke gewähren. Die „Cruise 14“-Kollektion, präsentiert von Nicole Kidman, bringt ein bisschen Sonne in unser Leben zurück. Durch gezielte Farb- und raffinierte Materialeinsätze scheint die Sonne durch jede Stoffaussparung.
Sowohl für stilbewusste Frauen als auch für Männer gibt es zu Beginn des neuen Jahres ganz besondere Schätze. Verborgen zwischen Wellen, Sanddünen und kristallklarem Wasser versteckt sich feinstes Krokodilleder und limonenfarbige Pumps, die vorne etwas zugespitzt sind. Die letztere Kreation ist mein absolut liebster Fund. Für die Herren der Schöpfung gibt es sowohl edle Exemplare als auch funkelnd glitzernde Treter. Alles in allem, eine absolut gelungene Kollektion.

In year 2000 a young New Yorker gal called Carrie Bradshaw was caught wearing a pair of furry, pink Jimmy Choo’s whilst strolling down the Avenues of Manhattan, which made the brand practically immortal. But this was only just one of the many peak of a long career which started off 4 years before the turn of the millenium, when the company was officially launched. Only one year after that no other than Princess Di was seen with a pair of Choo’s on her royal feet. In 2002 the first pair of burgundy strappy sandals accompanied Halle Berry who received her first Oscar that night.

Well, when a certain First Lady wore a white number to the Inaugural Ball of her husband, the president of the United States, everybody and their mother knew that Jimmy Choo belonged to the crème de la crème of the crème de la crème. But what I’m actually here for is the new “Cruise 14” collection, presented by Nicole Kidman. The latest instalment of Jimmy Choo brings a couple of much needed sun rays back into our lives. With the right use of colour and a genius choice of materials, Jimmy Choo managed to bring back summer through each and every piece of this new collection.
The beginning of the new year will bring a lot of bliss tor gals and guys. You might have noticed my excitement when I say that we can go treasure hunting because those new pieces look like they came fresh out of blue waves, tanned sand dunes and crystal clear water. You can catch a glimpse of crocodile leather and lemon-colored pumps. My personal favourite out of this year’s collection has to be a pair of said pumps with a tapered end to them. Men won’t be disappointed either because I’ve seen casual yet glittery numbers as well as elegant footwear for the special night of the year. To sum it all up, a big HELL YES for the new Cruise collection by Jimmy Choo.
