Katy Perry, Alexa Chung und Dita von Teese lieben ihre Taschen. 2006 erhielt sie von der Queen einen Award of the British Empire und 2009 gewann sie den ICONOCLAST Independent Handbag Designer Award für ihr Lebenswerk. Wir sprechen hier von der Designerin Lulu Guinness. Ihr Stil ist anders als der von anderen und sie hat sich auch selbst das Designen beigebracht, da sie keine formale Designausbildung absolvierte, abgesehen von einem einjährigen Basiskurs in Kunst.
Lulu Guinness´ Produkte sind berühmt für ihre Print Designs. Ich liebe all diese lustigen und mädchenhaften Prints, und man fühlt sich auch gar nicht “zu alt”, um eines ihrer Stücke zu tragen. Sie sind einfach cool und modern und fangen alle Blicke ein!

Katy Perry, Alexa Chung and Dita von Teese love her bags. In 2006 she was awarded an OBE from the Queen and in 2009 she was given the ICONOCLAST award for her Lifetime Achievement in Handbag Design. It is designer Lulu Guinness we are talking about. The woman you will never meet without her signature red lipstick creates giant ranges of fashionable, unmistakable and extravagant accessories, including bags, purses or umbrellas.
Her style is different from the others and it was she herself who taught her to design her creations. She didn’t have any formal design training apart from a year’s foundation course at art. Lulu Guinness’s products are famous for their print designs. I love all these fun and girly prints and you don’t have to feel “too old” to wear one of her pieces. They are just cool and modern and capture every eyes.
How about an umbrella that is flooded with doll faces, poker signs and lipstick prints? Don’t these shopper bags with their big wild cat prints look so cute? And of course, one shouldn’t miss pieces that are decorated with the central Lulu Guinness motif, the distinctive Dali-esque lips.
