Beim Label Monique Lhuillier findet man den Ursprung eigentlich in der Brautmode. Die Designerin selbst wollte heiraten und war überrascht, wie schwer es ihr fiel, ein schönes Brautkleid zu finden. Mit dem Ziel, dies zu ändern, gründete sie also ihr Label und wenn man nun die Brautmodenkollektion 2014 betrachtet, könnte man behaupten, dass sie es erreicht hat. Natürlich findet man ganz viel Weiß, ganz typisch. Die Designs selbst hingegen sind nicht unbedingt so traditionell.
Zu Beginn zeigen sich sehr reduzierte Looks. Die Kleider sind kurz und kaum verziert und trotzdem edel. Einige sind mit Blazern kombiniert, andere mit Jäckchen aus Spitze. Die schlanke Silhouette wandelt sich aber, der Rock gewinnt an Volumen und schließlich landet auch der Saum auf dem Boden. Auch bei den langen Exemplaren sind aber außergewöhnlich schlichte Kleider zu finden, die aber – typisch Monique Lhuillier – sehr viel Raum einnehmen.
Nur schade ist natürlich bei den langen, aufwändigen Brautkleidern, dass sie die Schuhe verdecken. Monique Lhuillier hat nämlich auch extra für den großen Tag eine separate Schuhkollektion herausgebracht. Auch hier wird wieder auf Plateau verzichtet und bloß mit schmalen Absätzen gearbeitet. Die Modelle sind natürlich alle in hellen Farben gehalten. Weiß – in allen Abstufungen –, Silber und auch Gold sind in der Palette vorhanden. Es wird wieder mit Spitze oder auch mit Riemchen gearbeitet, um den Fuß am Schuh zu fixieren.
Monique Lhuillier fing wohl mit dem Traum an, die Brautmode ein wenig umzukrempeln. Als dann dies geschafft war, wie man auch in der neuen Frühlings- und Sommerkollektion 2014 wieder sieht, gesellten sich Schuhe und Ready-To-Wear-Kollektion dazu und heute darf man ihren makellosen Stil in immer mehr Kollektionen bewundern.

The roots of the label Monique Lhuillier are firmly planted in its beautiful bridal fashion. The designer and founder herself wanted to get married and was surprised at the difficulties of finding a perfect wedding dress. Setting herself the goal to make the search for the ideal dress easier, she founded her label. Today, you can say that she reached her goal if you are looking at her bridal collection 2014. Of course, you will find many beautiful models in white here, just to follow the traditions. The designs however are not that traditional.
Initially many very minimalistic looks are presented. The dresses are short and barely embellished, which doesn’t change the fact that they are indeed very noble. Some are combined with a blazer, while others are worn with a jacket made of lace. The slim silhouette however is disappearing, if you browse the collection further. The skirt is increasing in volume. At the same time, it also becomes longer until it reaches the floor. Nonetheless, the long exemplars also include extraordinarily plain dresses, which however take up a lot of space, which is typical of Monique Lhuillier.
It’s a pity that the long, lavishly decorated wedding dresses cover the label’s beautiful shoes. After all, Monique Lhuillier also has a separate shoe collection in store for the woman’s most important day in her life. Here, plateaus again can’t be found, whilst the heels are rather thin. The models are of course colored in bright colors. White in all existing nuances, silver but also gold are part of the color palette. Again, the brand makes use of lace, but also decorative straps, which on top fasten the shoe to the ankle, are utilized.
Monique Lhuillier began to bring about change in the bridal fashion industry. When she achieved this goal, which is visibly demonstrated by the beauty of the spring and summer collection 2014, she didn’t stop. Instead, she extended her range of products, adding a shoe and a ready-to-wear collection to the assortment. Today, you can marvel hat her immaculate style in many various items and collections.
