Christopher Shannon wurde in London geboren und lebt nun in Liverpool. Er arbeitete unter anderem mit Designergrößen wie Judy Blame, Kim Jones sowie William Baker zusammen und hat sich auf Männermode spezialisiert. Er vereint typisch männliche Sportbekleidung mit unerwarteten Elementen wie klassischen Rüschen, folkloristischen Einflüssen, Patchwork und Stickereien.
Zusammen mit den Designern Nasir Mazhar und Michael van der Ham wurde er gebeten, die Kostüme der Tänzer der Olympischen Sommerspiele 2012 zu entwerfen, welche in der Eröffnungsfeier auftraten.
Die aktuelle Kollektion SS 2013 ist ein wahrhaft außergewöhnlicher Anblick!Zum einen wäre da eine schwarze Bomberjacke, die komplett mit Fransen übersät ist. Sie sieht aus wie das aufgeplusterte Federkleid eines großen Vogels oder ein Überwurf aus Stroh, wie er im feudalen Japan üblich war. Dazu eine schwarze Hose und das Outfit passt.
Dasselbe gibt es noch mal in umgekehrt: Hose fransig und Oberteil glatt. Um dem Ganzen die Krone aufzusetzen, gibt es einen Überwurf, welcher komplett aus Schnipseln und Fransen zu bestehen scheint, dieser ist allerdings in allen Nuancen von Grau gehalten.
Dazu existieren sportlich aussehende Outfits, die eigentlich in Grau/Weiß und Schwarz designt sind, jedoch haben sie bunte Akzente. Ob es ein kleiner Colorblock ist oder eine gestreifte Hose, so oder so führt dies zu einem spannungsreichen Kontrast. Dabei sind die Farben jedoch mehr als gut aufeinander abgestimmt und harmonieren trotz der Unterschiede.
Ein weiterer Fall von Fransen ist eine schicke Kopfbedeckung, welche an einen Kranz erinnert, von dem fransige Streifen herabfallen, welche mal in S/W gehalten sind und ein anderes Mal in Rot/Rosa, bzw. verschiedene Schattierungen von Blau. Es lässt sich wirklich sagen, dass diese Kollektion mehr als kreativ ist und obwohl sie zusammengewürfelt scheint auf den ersten Blick, hat das Chaos doch eine ganz eigene Struktur.

Furthermore, Christopher Shannon presented very sporty-looking outfits, which are primarily designed in grey, white and black. However, he inserted several colorful details in the outfits. Be it a colorblocking pattern or striped pants, Shannon seems to place value on an exciting contrast between luscious colors and dulled and neutral ones. On top, the colors seem to harmonize wonderfully apart from the differences.
Another fringy element in his designs is his chic headgear, which really reminds you of a chaplet from which fringy stripes are hanging. The shreds are colored in black or white, red and rose or different nuances and shades of blue. Well, you really can’t deny the fact that this collection is more than just creative. Although the designs appear chaotic at the first place, you will see that there indeed is a structure in the chaos, which is another contrast making his fashion so exciting.
