Es gibt zahlreiche, großartige Filme, bei denen der Kampf ohne Waffen, Mann gegen Mann stilistisch schön dargestellt ist oder einfach nur die rohe Brutalität im Kontrast zur Geschichte steht. Hier mal 5 Filme, die das mehr als gut geschafft haben. „Figth Club“ hat seinen Ehrenplatzt, doch diesen habe ich schon in der letzten Top 5 gehabt.

Ein großes MMA Tunier in Las Vegas zieht die unterschiedlichsten Kämpfer an, um den großen Preis zu gewinnen. Unter ihnen, die beiden Brüder Brendan und Tommy Conlon. Sie hassen einander und ihre familiäre Vergangenheit. Die groben Kämpfe stehen im starken Kontrast zum familiären Drama. Ein Film über wahre Bruderliebe. Wer am Ende keine Träne im Auge hat, ist innendrin tot. Großartig im Soundtrack, the National mit „About today“.

Zugegeben, der Boxkampf ist hier nur eine Facette des großen Ganzen, was den Film so genial macht aber sie ist eine gute. Brad Pitt als dauerbetrunkener Gipsy, welcher sich für eine Handvoll Dollar im Ring mit riesigen Brocken boxt, ist einfach nur herrlich. Zudem zeigt der Film einen Einblick in die dunkle Wahrheit der illegalen Boxwelt.

Silvester Stallones Rolle, welche ihm zum Durchbruch verholfen hat. Der Underdog Rocky Balboa soll in einem Show-Kampf gegen den amtierenden Champion kämpfen. Der Kampf, welcher von Anfang an als deutlich gilt, ist für ihn seine letzte Chance in der Boxwelt erfolgreich zu werden. Ein Beweis dafür, dass mit hartem Training und genug Selbstbewusstsein alles erreicht werden kann.

Der junge Journalistik Student Matt Buckner steht kurz vor seinem Abschluss an der Harvard Uni. Sein Zimmerkollege jedoch versteckt Kokain in seinem Spint und daraufhin wird er der Schule verwiesen. Er besucht seine Schwester in London. Über den Bruder seines Schwagers kommt er in Kontakt mit der Hooligan-Szene. Ein Film, der die Liebe zum Fußball zeigt und nicht vor roher Gewaltdarrstellung scheut.

Zwei Irish-Amerikanische Halbbrüder aus der Arbeiterklasse verfolgen den Traum vom Boxerfolg. Während der ältere der beiden seine Chance aufgrund von Drogenmissbrauch verspielt hat, ist es nun an dem Jüngeren, welchen er trainiert, doch noch einmal groß rauszukommen. Ein Film über Erfolg und Misserfolg, über Gewinner und Verlierer und über zwei Brüder, welche einen Traum verfolgen.

There are quite a few great movies where the man versus man fight without weapons is shown really well. Or there is just raw violence in contrast to history.
