Gegründet wurde Momotaro Jeans 2006 in Kojima, in Okayama, ein Ort, wo die Zeit still zu stehen scheint. Seit den 1960ern eiferten die jungen Japaner ihren Helden aus Filmen nach, die sich dem Amerikanischen Einfluss hingaben und Jeans trugen. Momotaro heißt so viel wie „Pfirsich-Junge“, dieser Bursche ist einer der größten Helden in Japan, der aus einem Pfirsich geboren und heranwachsen musste, um gegen Oni zu kämpfen. Und ebenso ist das Jeans Label gewachsen, um dem amerikanischen Markt Konkurrenz zu machen…und das mit Erfolg!

Herausstechend aus der Kollektion, die von Straight-Cut bis Slim reicht, sind die „Going to Battle“.
Zwei weiße Streifen auf der Hintertasche zeichnen sie aus…und obwohl das nur ein kleines Detail ist, erzielt es eine große Wirkung. Die Taschen sind das Alleinstellungsmerkmal der Momotaro!
Passend dazu gibt es Jeansjacken im selben Stil und Hemden aus dunkelblauem Stoff mit weißen Punkten dekoriert oder Khaki, kombiniert zu einem rebellische Look…bereit für den Kampf gegen alles!

The label Momotaro Jeans was founded in Kojima in Okayama in the year 2006. Kojima truly is a place where time seems to stand still. Since the 60ies, the young Japanese have been emulating their movie heroes, absorbing the American influence and therefore wearing jeans, the epitome of American style. Momotaro is , of course, Japanese and means “Peach Boy”. This Peach Boy originates from a Japanese myth and is one of the most famous heroes in Japan. This myth says that he is born out of a peach and grew up to fight Japanese demons, the so-called Oni. In a similar way, the label has emerged and grown, in order to compete with the American labels. Momotaro was not unsuccessful.
A label for all dreamers who want to turn their dreams into reality.
Momotaro produce their jeans in the traditional way. However, just like their country of origin, in the land of the rising sun, tradition meets modernity at Momotaro. Thus, modern jeans are colored and woven the way the Japanese have colored and woven their kimonos. The collection ranges from straight-cut and slim jeaans. But what stood out of the collection were the “Going to Battle” models. Two white stripes embellishing the back pockets are their signature features. Although it is just a small detail, the stripes have a huge impact. These stripes are the label’s unique selling point.
As an addition, Momotaro’s got jeans jackets in the same style as their pants and shirts made of dark blue fabric with white or khaki dots. All these garments can be combined to a rebel look… ready for the fight against everything!
