Ist ein U.S. Amerikanisches Modelabel, dessen Stil in Richtung Vintage geht. Ihre Kleidung erinnert stark an die 40er-50er Jahre, mit modernem Touch. Sie können mit „Alltagskleidung“ kombiniert werden und als kleiner, rebellischer Akzent getragen werden oder man verschreibt sich komplett dem Oldschool Stil und trägt sie als Set. Die neue Linie erinnert stark an den Stil des Kaliforniens der 50er Jahre mit Gemusterten Hemden, Slim Jeans und Workpants. Diese sind daher auch stonewashed und verblasst.

Die Denim Serie ist im gleichen Stil angelegt. Oldschool und Used werden hier wieder großgeschrieben, die einzelnen Modelle tragen Namen wie „Engineer“ und „Mechanic“. Was macht so eine „Mechanic“ aus? Sie ist eine Slim Fit Jeans mit Reisverschluß und mit schmalem, auf der Hüfte liegendem Schritt, mit doppelter und dreifacher Nahtverarbeitung, Gürtelschlaufensignatur, mit verstärkten Schaufeltaschen, antik zurecht gemacht und verpackt. Die „Engineer“ dagegen hat vier Verschlußknöpfe statt des Reizverschlußes. Die Arbeitshose hat nochmals verstärkte Doppel-und Dreifachnähte und verstärkte Taschen, aber wird wie gewohnt antik zurecht gemacht und verpackt.
Was uns neben der magnetisierenden Denimwear faszinierte waren die lässigen Shorts im Used Look und die abgehalfterten, leicht zerwetzten Tank Tops im Jeans Look.

Der Werdegang einer Third & Army Hose
Third & Army benutzen schwerere Stoffe, wie das 14 oz türkischen Bossa Denim. Inspiriert von originalen Schwergewichtigen des Vorkriegsdenims, findet man hier gefärbte Qualitäts Garn-Denims, die sich durch gute Haltbarkeit und haltbare Farben auszeichnen. Candiani 13 oz 3x1Italienisches Denim, wurde ausgewählt für dessen Webe- und den Indigo Färbeprozess, welcher einer der besten in der Welt ist. Kurabo, 13oz Stretch Japanisches Denim, diese Weberei hat original amerikanische Webstühle genommen und sie überarbeitet, um originale Selvedge Denim herzustellen. Ein steifes, japanisches 14oz organisches Cotton Red Selvedge Gewebe wurde ausgewählt für dessen authentischen, amerikanischen Webe-Look und dessen Indigo Färbung
Unsere Näherinnen sind ausgebildete Schneider, sie fertigen flache Seitennähte, Kettenstich an den Taschenöffnungen und an den Münztaschen, inklusive unterer Einfassung. Verstärkter Dreifachnaht Kettenstich an der Vorder- und Rückseite sorgt für hohe Haltbarkeit. Die Doppelnaht Detailierung an Saum und Passkurven ist qualitativ vernäht mit US Poly-Core Filamentzwirn, mit 9 bis 10 Stichen pro Zoll. Verstärkte Nahtverriegelung und Nieten Detailierung, Kettenstich am gefalteten Bund, 1/8“ Doppelnaht an der seitlichen Riegelnaht.
Jedes Paar Denim wird in Handarbeit von unseren Handwerksmeistern vollendet, die Endfertigung gibt ihnen eine Identität die bei jedem Denim einzigartig ist.
Zum Beispiel
Bossa: Ein dunkles, unreines Indigo mit Strukturfalten. Candiani: Wahrhaftes dunkles Indigo mit natürlichen Oberflächen Falten, welches starken Hoch/Tief Farbkontrast auf dem Stoff an allen natürlichen Abnutzungsstellen trägt: Taschen, Hosenboden, Oberschenkel, Knie, Saum. Kurabo: Dunkles, blaugrünes und grobes Indigo mit Strukturfalten an den natürlichen Abnutzungsstellen. Japanese Organic: Dunkles Indigo mit Schlieren und Schattierungsfinish. Cone Mills: Dunkles, grobes Indigo mit goldener Schattierung, Strukturfalten an Abnutzungsstellen.
Auf der Bread and Butter präsentierten sie sich stilsicher wie man es von ihrer Mode erwarten konnte. Der Stand war holzverkleidet und mit alten Möbelstücken sowie einem Motorrad dekoriert. Er sah sehr nach „Handwerk“ aus, welches den Stil nochmals unterstrich. Wir hätten uns nicht gewundert, wenn uns an diesem Stand ein paar hart arbeitende, zutätowierte Kerle mit ölverschmierten und abgewetzten Work Pants begrüßt hätten, stolz, auf ihr produziertes Denim Tageswerk .https://www.3rdandarmy.com/ Das was wir visuell per Homepage Startseite wahrnehmen, war auch exact das, was wir am Stand sahen. Die rustikalen und groben Holzlatten waren mit rechteckigen groben Leinenbannern auf Brusthöhe verkleidet. Auf diesen Bannern wurde das Portrait von Brad Pitt mit einem groben Pinsel malerisch verewigt. Bei Third & Army liegt die Assoziation zu so richtig alten Oldschool Tattoo Studios oder Barber Shops sehr nahe.
Das Personal war sehr freundlich und wir konnten unsere eigenen Fotos ungestört produzieren.

Obwohl erst 2011 gegründet, etablieren sie sich nun auch auf dem Europäischen Markt und ich bin mir sicher dass wir noch viel von ihnen hören werden.

Los Angeles Third & Army Clothing Co.
Los Angeles Third & Army Clothing Co. is an U.S. american fashion label, that follows a vintage style. Their clothing is reminiscent of the 40s and 50s, with a modern touch. They can be combined with “everyday clothes” and be worn as a tiny rebellious touch or you can dedicate yourself completely to the old-school style and wear them as a set. The new line is redolent of the style of California in the 1950s with its patterned shirts, slim jeans and Workpants. Those are therefore stonewashed and faded.

The Demin line is set in the same style. “Old-school” and “used” are prominent here, the individual models are bear names like “Engineer” and “Mechanic”. What makes up such a “Mechanic”? It is a slim fit jeans with a zipper and a small crutch, that clings to the hip, with double and triple seam workmanship, belt loop signature with reinforces belt pockets, made out and packed antiquely. The “Engineer” on the other hand has four fly buttons instead of a zipper. The work pants has yet over again reinforced double and triple seams and reinforced pockets, put it is made up and packed antiquely as usual.
What fascinated us aside from the magnetizing Denimwear, were the nonchalant shorts in their used look and the “over-the-hill” slightly ragged tank tops in a jeans look.

The career of a pair a Third & Army pants. Third & Army is using heavy fabrics, like the 14oz Turkish Bossa Denim. Inspired by the original heavy weights of the pre-war-era denims, one will find dyed quality yarn denims here, which stand out due to their good durability and their durable colors. Candiani, 13oz 3×1 Italian denim, was chosen for its weaving and indigo dyeing method, which is one of the best in the world. Kurabo 1, 13oz stretch Japanese denim – this weaving mill took original American looms and reworked them, to produce original Selvedge denim. A rigid, Japanese 14oz organic Cotton Red Selvedge fabric was chosen for is authentic American weaving-look and it’s indigo color.
Our seamstresses and seamsters are qualified tailors, they fashion flat felt side seams, chain stitching at pocket openings and coin pockets, including bottom hem. Reinforced triple needle chain stitching at front and back ensures durability. The double needle detailing at yoke seams and normal seams is sewn in a high quality with US poly core filament thread, with nine to ten stitches per inch. Reinforced bar tacking and rivet detailing, chain stitched at folded waist band, 1/8 inch double needle stitching at side seam tacking.
Each pair of denims is hand finished by our master craftsmen, this finishing gives every denim its own, unique identity. For example::
Bossa: A super dark indigo, with resin wrinkles. Candiani: True dark indigo with natural resin wrinkles, with high-low color contrast on all natural wear points: pockets, seats, thighs, knees, hem. Kurabo: Dark blue-green and raw indigo with resin wrinkles on the natural wear points. Japanese Organic: Dark indigo with a tint streak finish. Cone Mills: Dark raw indigo with a gold tint and resin wrinkles on the natural wear points.
At the Bread and Butter they were presenting themselves stylistically confident, as one could expect of their fashion. The booth had wood paneling and decorated with old furniture and an old motorcycle. It looked very much like craftsmanship, which underlined their style even more. We would not have wondered, if we would have been greeted by some hard working, heavily tattooed guys, with oil smeared and worn work pants at the booth, proud of their denim day work. .https://www.3rdandarmy.com/ What we could perceive visually from their web front page, was exactly what we saw at the booth. The rustic and raw wooden slats were cased in rugged, rectangle linen banners on chest height. On those banners Brad Pitt was painted with a raw brush. At Third & Army the associations with a real old old-school tattoo parlor or a barber shop suggests itself.
The staff was very friendly and we could take our own pictures undisturbed.
