Niinimetatud cavemen diet is based on the belief that our body including our metabolism and digestive system have stayed the same since the Stone Age, while our society and food availability underwent extreme changes. Advocates of this diet only eat what our ancestors used to eat: essentially meat, nuts and berries. This means they completely go without grains, legumes and dairy.

It is said that our metabolism is not able to adapt in this short amount of time, thus not able to process all this “new” and generally artificially produced food. Paleo supporters believe that this lifestyle will grant them a longer and more enjoyable and healthy life.

Well, let’s look at the facts here. A paleo-friendly diet consists of nutritious and natural ingredients. Those guarantee our systems all the nutrition it needs to function properly and that on a long-term basis. It’s also proven that a waiver of dairy, grains and processed fats and sugar will not damage your organism, on the contrary even. Critics always state that our bodies are in fact able to process all the “new” food and that there is so much proof that people from the Paleolithic Age did in fact consume grains and legumes.
